The Archer Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church is sponsoring the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration for the community on Monday, January 19, 2026, 2:00p.m.-3:30pm at the Windsor Town Hall Council Chambers, 275 Broad Street in Windsor, CT. 

The keynote speaker will be Rev. Kevin Johnson, Pastor of Workman Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church in Torrington, CT and Library Technician/Researcher & Historical Presenter of the History and Genealogy Unit at the Connecticut State Library. Rev. Johnson has been heavily engaged in the Torrington community, municipal agencies, and civic organizations, serving the needs of its’ residents. Rev. Johnson has also provided outstanding service to the State library for 38 years and to the citizens of Connecticut. As a historical presenter, he has shared his extensive knowledge statewide through creative reenactments of notable figures from Connecticut’s African American history. All are welcome as the community comes together in commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream, life, and legacy. 

The event is free and is open to the public. To accommodate individuals who are unable to attend in person, the program will be live streamed starting at 2:00pm the day of at: https://www.windsorct.gov/681/videos
