Join participants nationwide in the 8th annual celebration of Douglass Day – a day to honor Frederick Douglass’s legacy by transcribing historic Black archival collections to make them more accessible to researchers. This year, we will be transcribing materials from the Colored Conventions Project. This groundbreaking archive documents how 19th-century African Americans organized around critical issues such as voting rights, citizenship, education, labor, and racial equality.
Come celebrate with us at the Historical Society. Snacks and transcription support will be provided. No experience necessary, but participants must bring their own laptop or tablet. Registration encouraged. https://windsorhistoricalsociety.org/event/douglass-day-transcribe-a-thon-2/
