Add a little charm and creativity to your day in this Whimsical Ladybug Mosaic Workshop, where you’ll create your own playful ladybug design using colorful glass. All materials included, no experience necessary.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the mosaic process while learning essential techniques. Students will learn how to hand cut and nip glass, use a grinder for shaping, and properly place stained glass pieces to bring their design to life. You’ll also learn how to grout and finish your mosaic, leaving with a completed piece ready to display. Whether you choose bold, vibrant colors or a softer, more whimsical palette, your ladybug will be uniquely yours. Perfect for a creative day out with friends, or anyone looking to try something new, this workshop is a relaxing and rewarding way to create something special.

**PLEASE NOTE: When working with glass, there is always a possibility of getting nicked or cut. While we have bandaids and a first aid kit on site, we’d recommend not attending this workshop if you’re squeamish about the possibility of blood. You may also consider bringing your own work gloves if you want to take extra precaution toward this possibility.

All classes are held in the train station studio classroom. Do not attend if you feel sick. Please review our Registration and Payment Policy page before signing up. Email classes@windsorartcenter.org for more information.

THE CHARLES F. BENDZANS SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Charles F. Bendzans Scholarship Fund gives students and artists from all backgrounds a chance to take Windsor Art Center classes at a discounted rate. If you need financial support and would like to apply for this scholarship, please email Michelle at classes@windsorartcenter.org

Charles F. Bendzans grew up in Windsor, was awarded fine arts degrees from The University of Connecticut and Michigan’s Cranbrook Academy of Art, and then went on to become a nationally recognized artist. While oil painting was his passion, he loved all forms of visual art, from printmaking to photography to jewelry design and everything in between. Although he moved to Louisiana as a young man, Charles continued to keep a close watch on what was happening in Windsor, and never passed up an opportunity to brag about his beloved hometown (and UCONN Huskies). He considered Windsor Art Center to be an extraordinarily fantastic asset to the town. Throughout his adult life and until his death in 2019, Charles was also committed to teaching and mentoring others; he felt an obligation to help other artists become they very best that they could be.  It is hoped that his mentoring will continue in part through The Charles F. Bendzans Scholarship Fund.
