Pom Pom Flower Rug Workshop

Sunday, July 12, 2026 (11:00 AM - 2:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Grab your family and friends to spend an afternoon creating your own flower. In this relaxing and rewarding process, students will first learn how to create each pom pom by hand, and then how to attach them to the rug backing, choosing their own colors and pom pom sizes along the way.

Please note: this meditative and repetitive process likely will take longer than the allotted 3 hours of the workshop, so students will get to go home with extra yarn to finish their rug at home.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Ayana Williams is a multidisciplinary artist and art therapist whose work centers on healing, self-expression, and human connection. She creates intuitively, allowing each piece to dictate its own form and selecting materials based on emotion, energy, and intention rather than limiting herself to one medium. Influenced by her upbringing as a military child, her work reflects themes of adaptability, vulnerability, growth and whimsy. Lately, she has been exploring texture and play through pom-pom-based work, embracing softness and experimentation as essential parts of her creative process.

All classes are held in the train station studio classroom. Do not attend if you feel sick. Please review our Registration and Payment Policy page before signing up. Email classes@windsorartcenter.org for more information.
