David C. Jackson, a Springfield, MA native, has spent a lifetime honing his artistic talent, deeply influenced by his culturally rich upbringing. Immersed in a household that celebrated creativity—spanning music, martial arts, theater, and visual arts—Jackson found early inspiration in comics, children’s books, and legendary artists like Norman Rockwell, Georgia O’Keefe, Andy Warhol, and Salvador Dali. These eclectic influences shaped the dynamic range of his portfolio, where diverse subject matters converge with complexity and purpose. Mentored at age nine by artist Donald Blanton, Jackson gained both technical skills and the confidence to exhibit his work, showcasing pieces in venues such as the University of Connecticut, Western New England College, Stowe Center for Literary Activism, New Britain Art Museum, Windsor Art Center, and other galleries throughout the northeast primarily.
As a graduate of the University of Connecticut (B.A. Psychology and Sociology) and University of Saint Joseph (M.A. Business Management), Jackson’s academic pursuits enrich his art, adding depth and perspective to his exploration of human experiences and societal dynamics. His works often center on the transformative culture of hip-hop, aiming to inspire unity, creativity, and compassion. Jackson’s art embodies his mission: to push aesthetic boundaries while fostering social consciousness and hope. Through his distinctive style and heartfelt passion, he aspires to create a lasting impact on his generation and future creatives.
