Shad Derby Festival

Description

The Shad Derby Festival is a long standing Windsor, Connecticut & New England Tradition. It all began in 1955 with a fishing tournament to raise awareness of the growing pollution of the Connecticut River.

As the Shad Always Return to Windsor, so do the many local New England civic groups, organizations, businesses, food vendors, crafters, exhibitors, parade participants and live entertainment to the Windsor Shad Derby. Shad Derby Day truly is Windsor's Most Beloved Springtime Tradition!!!

The Festival includes activities on the green, a parade, and a 5K run and walk on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 

10:00 am - 4:00 pm on the Windsor Town Green, Windsor Center.

This event is hosted by the Windsor Jaycees and the Windsor Shad Fest Bureau.
