Stroll among the headstones with Windsor Historical Society on Saturday, October 24, 10:00 am - 11:30 am for their annual cemetery tour. This year’s theme is legacy.
Windsor is full of legacies, from Constitutional framer Oliver Ellsworth, to suffragist Agnes McCormick, to Windsor Historical Society founder George Crosby. This tour is a celebration of Windsorites throughout history who worked hard to make their home a better place for everyone.
“This is a tour about the doers,” says Windsor Historical Society’s program manager, Heather Lodge, “The people who saw a need and said ‘How can I help?’. They may not always have the biggest or the fanciest headstones, but they do have some of the best stories and the longest impact."
The tour takes place rain or shine, excluding torrential downpour. It starts at Windsor Historical Society and includes a half mile of walking. Please wear comfortable shoes. $10 adult, $8 member, $8 student, children 12 and under free.
This program is part of Windsor Historical Society’s WindsorCT250 commemoration activities. For more information, visit WindsorHistoricalSociety.org or email info@windsorhistoricalsociety.org.
